Things to do in Havre
enjoy our 4 seasons and natural beauty

"I live here because at the end of a long summer day, there are still hours of sunlight left to enjoy a walk or a round of golf."

While visiting Havre, whether for business or pleasure, visitors find that recreation opportunities are many and compliment the Montana lifestyle.  Within a couple of miles of Havre, outdoor enthusiasts can experience several recreational opportunities  from hiking in Beaver Creek Park to casting a rod for your favorite fish all complimented by the four seasons.

Besides recreation, Havre is also rich in cultural attractions. Enjoy museums, art galleries, concerts, historic attractions and live theatre. Explore the local shops. And numerous sporting activities and events fill the calendar throughout the year. Check out the calendar of events for a complete look at community activities. While Havre enjoys four very distinct seasons, spring may be the sweetest, with the rebirth of the wildflowers dotting the hill sides in Beaver Creek Park and the sounds of chirping birds as the day breaks a new dawn.  Average summer temperatures are around 70 degrees. The fall brings a warm and colorful glow to the horizons, and the harvest skies glow with spectacular sunsets and awesome harvest moons.   The mornings and evenings in the fall may require a sweater but the mid-day temperatures are warm.

Come and spend some time with us and explore the history of Havre at the Railroad Museum and the H. Earl Clack Museum. Take a step back in time at Havre Beneath the Streets and discover the grandest fort in Montana, Fort Assinniboine. Learn about a 2,000 year old archaeological Buffalo Jump and the Montana Dinosaur Trail.  Enjoy nature and the outdoors by camping, walking the trails and visiting the Badlands.  Hunting and Fishing abound. Many other attractions and things to do await you, like a walk through our 3 historic districts along with a list of free things.

Just because you may have missed it then, it doesn’t mean you can’t experience it now.
